# I like building things. I like seeing them through even more.

> I'm Jakub, an applied computer science student from České Budějovice.

I'm Jakub, an applied computer science student from České Budějovice. I build websites, software and my own technical projects. Most start with something that catches my interest and makes me want to see how far I can take it.

## More than a circle and a line.

The logo brings together a few things that have been part of my life for a long time. Its shape suggests a planet and its orbit. Broken down into its basic parts, it can look like 1 and 0, or I/O, a small nod to computing.

There's a bit of mathematics in it too, something I enjoyed long before I started working on my own software.

## Principles

- **Curiosity:** When something catches my interest, I rarely stop at the surface. I need to know what's happening underneath.
- **Iteration:** The first version is rarely the last. I often return to things that already work because I still see something I could do better.
- **Responsibility:** Tools can make the work much faster. That doesn't change the fact that I'm the one who has to stand behind the result.

## AI helps me work faster. It doesn't lower my standards for the result.

I use AI to explore possibilities, analyse problems and iterate. But I don't assume a result is right just because it works: I check it, adjust it, and often come back to it. And if I can't stand behind a project myself, it doesn't go out.

## A short history.

- **2026, Nový domov 353.** A website for an accommodation in Benešov nad Černou. I did the structure, design, development and launch, and the site is live. [The project on the homepage](https://www.snejda.cz/en#projekty)
- **6 Sep 2026, Helios on GitHub.** The utility I wanted on my own Mac got its own repository. The source code is on GitHub. [Helios repository](https://github.com/Snejdik/helios)
- **12 Sep 2026, Helios Pre-beta 1.** The first public test build, available to download.
- **14 Sep 2026, Helios Pre-beta 2.** The second test build. I'm testing it on different Apple Silicon Macs and refining the security model. [The Helios page](https://www.snejda.cz/en/helios)
- **Oct 2026, Helios 0.2.0 Beta 1.** A new interface, an Energy page and an experimental fan layer that only ever adds cooling on top of macOS. [The Helios page](https://www.snejda.cz/en/helios)
- **Now, Studies and selected websites.** I'm studying applied computer science, building Helios and taking on selected web projects.
