Helios is a menu-bar app for Apple Silicon Macs that tells you whether your Mac is doing well, why it is not, and how it will age.

## 50-word description

Helios is a free menu-bar app for Apple Silicon Macs. Open the popover to see whether your Mac is doing well. Ask why it is slow, hot, loud or draining the battery, and Helios shows what it sees, why it thinks so and what you can do. Longevity tracks battery, SSD and cooling over time.

## 100-word description

Helios is a free menu-bar app for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Ask it why the Mac is slow, hot or loud, why the battery drains, why it will not sleep, why it restarted, why the Wi-Fi is slow or why the disk is filling up, and it answers in three parts: what it sees, why it thinks so and what you can do. Longevity tracks battery wear, the power adapter and cable, SSD writes and cooling over time, with estimates marked as estimates. History stays on the Mac and diagnostics are off by default. The source is public under the PolyForm Noncommercial license. Helios is developed by Jakub Šnejda in České Budějovice, Czech Republic.
