I'm Jakub, an applied computer science student from České Budějovice. I build websites, software and my own technical projects. Most start with something that catches my interest and makes me want to see how far I can take it.

Helios Beta 1

Last code change:
Changes to Helios over 12 weeks, one bar per week

More than a circle and a line.
The logo brings together a few things that have been part of my life for a long time. Its shape suggests a planet and its orbit. Broken down into its basic parts, it can look like 1 and 0, or I/O, a small nod to computing.
There's a bit of mathematics in it too, something I enjoyed long before I started working on my own software.
Principles
Curiosity
When something catches my interest, I rarely stop at the surface. I need to know what's happening underneath.
Iteration
The first version is rarely the last. I often return to things that already work because I still see something I could do better.
Responsibility
Tools can make the work much faster. That doesn't change the fact that I'm the one who has to stand behind the result.
Now
Studies and selected websites
I'm studying applied computer science, building Helios and taking on selected web projects.
AI helps me work faster. It doesn't lower my standards for the result.
I use AI to explore possibilities, analyse problems and iterate. But I don't assume a result is right just because it works: I check it, adjust it, and often come back to it. And if I can't stand behind a project myself, it doesn't go out.
